Henar Álvarez will be the first woman to host a late-night show on RTVE’s La 1.
The host, comedian, and screenwriter Henar Álvarez, represented by Keepers, continues to break barriers in Spanish television. Her show ‘Al cielo con ella‘ marks a major leap forward in her career as it moves to RTVE’s La 1, making Henar the first woman to host a late-night show on the main channel of national public television.
The show initially premiered in November 2024 on RTVE Play, RTVE’s free online platform. After becoming the most-watched original premiere in the platform’s history, the show moved to La 2, where it has aired over the past few months, building a loyal audience and generating significant buzz on social media.
During this phase, Al cielo con ella has welcomed a host of high-profile guests, including Alba Flores, Álex de la Iglesia, Ana Belén, Ana Peleteiro, Andreu Buenafuente, Eduardo Casanova and Laura Escanes, among many others.
Now, following strong ratings and particularly high engagement on social media, RTVE has decided to take the show to the next level by moving it to La 1.
The move breaks another glass ceiling in Spanish television, with Henar set to become the first woman to host a late-night show on RTVE’s main channel.
In this new phase, she will continue to be joined by Aida Miguez, the show’s co-director, and a team of contributors including Toni Acosta, Ana Morgade, Clara Ingold, Laura del Val, Rubén Avilés, and Lamine Thior.
For its first broadcast on La 1, the show will feature a guest of international renown: Colombian singer Shakira, in an interview set to become one of the year’s most talked-about television moments.
Here at Keepers, we’re extremely proud to see Henar reach this new milestone, marking another important step in both her career and the evolution of television entertainment.
