Goldcar premieres ‘Es solo un podcast’

Goldcar,  the car rental brand offering the best value for money across more than 100 offices in 25 countries worldwide, premiered its first branded podcast on Sunday 13 April under the title Es solo un podcast. Hosted by journalist Irene Junquera, the series will run for six episodes and feature guests including Frank Blanco, Luján Argüelles, Pablo Puyol, Angy Fernández, Carles Tamayo and Arkano.

With this podcast, the brand wants to approach its audience in a casual and innovative way, using entertainment as a vehicle to connect with its target. Keepers was the influencer marketing agency responsible for the creative concept, strategic development and production of the branded podcast, which is now available on platforms including YouTube and Spotify.

Through ‘Es solo un podcast,  Goldcar explores the link between guests’ professional and personal lives across four key areas of interest for its audience: running, festivals, travel and tips on saving money. The conversations also offer insight into how guests manage their day-to-day lives, their professional aspirations, how they organise and enjoy their free time, their personal tastes and their main concerns, all in a friendly and informal tone.

Isabel Martínez, deputy general manager of the brand in Spain and Portugal, commented on this new format: “We want to get closer to our audience with entertaining content where we can talk about points in common with our users such as travel plans, music festivals or tips to save their mobility, always in a close and relaxed way”.

Sergio Barreda, CEO and founder of Keepers, said: “With this podcast, Goldcar positions itself as an innovative brand that is close to its target audience. Nowadays, the audience prefers entertainment formats such as podcasts for information and entertainment. In this sense, the podcast is the format par excellence for brands and consumers to connect in the online environment in a natural and differentiating way”.

The podcast was recorded entirely at Madrid’s Círculo de Bellas Artes and is hosted by Irene Junquera, one of the most recognised figures in sports journalism and entertainment. With more than 18 years’ experience in television, Irene has built a career as a presenter, commentator and contributor across entertainment and sports programmes. Her work includes collaborations with El Desmarque, Radio Marca, Prime Video Spain’s Tarjeta Azul and RTVE’s El Conquistador.

From 13 April onwards, a new episode of Goldcar’s branded podcast will be released every other Sunday. The first episode, now available on YouTube and Spotify among other platforms, features Frank Blanco, who shares travel tips and reflects on his career in radio and television.
