The ingenuity of influencers in their forties
It didn’t take long for us to organise a picnic at home with friends and discuss Eurovision. And we get together to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries; communions and weddings; and even divorces. We get together to celebrate life with a few beers and potatoes, the simple life of the terraces.
We Spaniards are like that. It’s in our way of being, in our character. It is how we express ourselves that makes us who we are. That is why we are able to meet every evening at 20:00 in our windows and on our balconies to applaud and thank everyone who is helping to stop the health crisis in which we are immersed.
We are witty and always bring humour to the fore, even more so in situations like the one we are in right now, it becomes necessary. We are a lot of this. If you add to this how we express ourselves through our social networks, we have the perfect cocktail between memes and surreal situations, such as playing bingo; playing sport driven by the neighbour who goes down to the common patio to do his exercise routine; or, witnessing a DJ session sponsored by the next door neighbour.
Ibai Llanos, a Bilbao native and influencer, had a little light go on last Monday 16th. Why not make a FIFA tournament between the 20 first division teams? In less than twenty-four hours, it was already created. He had brought together a footballer from each team and professional football narrators to commentate each match. Not only is this an entertainment action, but also all the proceeds from the streaming will be donated, Ibai said. Thanks to the networks, in less than 24 hours the tournament is formed and will be played on Sunday 22nd.

Being isolated at home, we all share our day-to-day life on the networks through #yomequedoencasa and, sometimes, we get blocked and run out of ideas to carry out. Problem solved thanks to the imagination of @yoencasita, who has more than 642K followers. On her, each post is made up of different ideas that encourage her followers to get through the quarantine, providing creative initiatives to do. From dusting off the Nintendo to play Animal Crossing; to replaying the Ode to Joy on the recorder; to putting on your own fashion show in the hallway; to re-watching Physics or Chemistry for the first time.

And with the aim of keeping us in our homes and making our forties a little more pleasant, Franchejo Blázquez, manager of various artists, including Dani Fernández, had the idea of offering through the profile @yomequedoencasafestival a proposal that we find hard to refuse. It consists of inviting different national artists to offer half-hour acoustic concerts via Instagram Live.
The first session will start from Friday 13 to Sunday 15, and for the weekend, from Friday 20 to Sunday 22, there are already confirmed artists such as Ruth Lorenzo, Edurne, Vanesa Martín or Beret, among many others. So we already have a musical plan to spend another weekend in our forties.
